I love my families - and this specific family I love seeing every year. The crazy thing is how I met Chrissy. I was at Aerosoles when they were in the downtown Baltimore mall at the Inner Harbor buying some new boots. Chrissy was the manager of the store who sold me said boots. I came back 2 more times in the coming weeks to purchase more shoes (when you update one pair, you gotta buy them in every color they come in, amiright?). Chrissy and I hit it off and became fast friends. She would tell me about her daughter and her boyfriend every time we saw one another. Shortly after, Chrissy got engaged to Calvin and I was blessed they asked me to do their engagement photos. Chrissy and Calvin got married and Chrissy and I kept in regular touch.
It wasn't until last year that they asked me to take their family portraits - not once, but twice in 2 months. We updated the family portraits, and then updated them again around Christmas when a new kitten was brought into the family. It was just wonderful to catch up and have fun and update photos while we were at it. One thing that I try to make my photos - fun! I would hate it if my families walked away and didn't enjoy themselves.
I was convinced we were going to have to cancel this session and wait until another sunflower field was in bloom. We had gotten some terrible rain a few days before I met up with Calvin, Chrissy and Cassidy and the sunflowers looked sad in some places, but man, was their color so GORGEOUS! I love sunflowers for this reason - they photograph beautifully and I cannot wait to capture more families when one of the local fields is in bloom.
