Steve + Yesli | A Lancaster County Wedding | Baltimore Maryland Photographer

Updated: Jan 29, 2020

First off, I have to say how honored I was to capture the wedding of these sweet friends. Steve and Yesli are complete gems and there could not be two more perfect people for one another. I met with the couple the week of the wedding to go over some last minute prep, and there was so much amazing organization - and it showed in all the details for this amazing wedding. I drove to White Chimney's in Gap, PA for Steve and Yesli's joyous wedding on June 29th. When I arrived at the venue, it there was amazing sunlight for about a hour - and then the storm hit. I had just enough time to capture the details and a few portraits outside before joining Yesli and her bridesmaids in the Bridal cottage to wait out the storm. Guys, delaying the ceremony over a hour was the best thing they could have done. Yesli and Steve got their dream outdoor ceremony. I believe the most touching moment was when the officiant, Adam, reached his hand out to grab Steve on the shoulder to comfort his emotions of excitement for seeing Yesli come down the aisle. At one point in there ceremony, an El Salvadorian tradition is instead of doing the unity candle, they do a unity rope - the tying of two hearts together. They loop the rope over the bride and grooms shoulders and they keep it there until after they say their vows. Eventually the storm clouds gave way to glowy light - the kinds photographers love. When it was time for portraits, the dark clouds were in the distance and were indeed, a distant memory. Scottish Highland cattle were the party crashers of the evening - definitely a highlight considering I never saw these on my trip to Scotland last summer. After portraits, everyone partied the night away dancing to some of the greatest music of modern American music and bachata ( a latino style music that gets the hips and booty shaking) Sweet friends, thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of photographing your union. I love you both! Hope you both are well rested after your awesome honeymoon in San Diego!
